Summy's Journal

Well, I'm back in the good ole U.S. of A. I "schlepped" around Europe for 10 days. And it took me another week to get over it. I still feel a little off-kilter, but it's all good.

The trip was crazy busy and so much fun. I didn't want to leave Paris! I'd go back to stay in a heartbeat. I took about 500 or so pictures. It cost me $78 at Walmart to get the ones developed that I wanted. When I have time, I'll upload and share some with you. There are just way too many to choose from though.

Megs, I have you a shot glass from Paris! I didn't forget you. Email me your current address and I'll get it out to you sometime this week. I don't think I have the address at your condo.

Angie, I'm glad you had fun as well. I thought about you when I was in Paris. We'll have to swap stories. I'm sure you have many.

yay! it's a day off tomorrow! and i'm so determined to watch Brokeback Mountain that i'm driving to birmingham tomorrow to catch the 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and then driving back to catch the golden globes. it better be good!

i am now a member of popnatural, an awesome community for NSYNC fans who are also fans of Supernatural. Dean is hot and sarcastic. it's like he's my perfect man. i *heart* him. **points to icon**

and now i am off to bed. i'm getting up early and driving, so i need to be fresh in the morning.

So, it's my planning block. And what do I do? I get online and check LJ. Hehehehehehe

Anyway, we had basketball games last night. We were down by one point and got fouled at the buzzer. The guy made one shot, so we had to go into OT. We totally kicked butt during OT. It was a great game. But I'm exhausted. We have games Friday night as well.

OK...off I go to do some work...is it Friday yet?

how many times can you watch the same movie? I have now watched this movie 9 times in the last year and a half. it's a good movie. i'm just not in the mood for it today. mondays just suck. i need sleep!

anybody watch "grey's anatomy"? i just love that show. last night was the special that did a recap of what's been going on. by far the best moment in tv ever:

My back is killing me. I'm just not used to being on my feet all day...teaching 3 classes each day. My back went out pretty bad last year. I have to go to the chiropractor to get adjusted every now and again. I think it's time to get adjusted again. Because I am in some major pain here.

This week has officially been the most boring week ever. We have to give standardized pretests to all of our classes and turn the scores into the board of education. Since I teach English, I have to give both the reading and language tests. Those took up Wednesday and Thursday ALL DAY LONG! Today I gave summer reading tests. Then we're watching the movie version of the summer reading novel. I've run out of things to do. My brain just won't be productive anymore. I've seen this movie about 7 or 8 times already. is it 3 o'clock yet???

What sucks is that we have basketball games tonight. Since we no longer have cheerleading as a class, we have to come early to practice our halftime routines. I don't get to go home. This will be a very long day. And all I want to do is go home and go to sleep.

OK...enough whining and complaining. I like my job. I really do. I just get tired sometimes. I need to get back into the swing of things. I was definitely not ready for school to start back.

so i can post here at work! i'm so excited. i like our new filtering system. it lets me get on mugglenet AND livejournal!

school sucks. i already do not like my 1st block class. they have attitudes. attitudes and i do not get along. AT ALL!!!

anyway...it's almost time for my 3rd block class. and i have to have them through lunch. i know at least two of the kids in it from my roster. they're both football players. so at least i can threaten them with the head coach. that usually makes them behave. it just sucks that all of my classes are completely full. it's ridiculous. i don't have enough desks for most classes. but anyway...i have my liger and vote 4 pedro stickers here to keep me company!

back to work i go...

So, Happy New Year everyone. I ate my share of greens for money and black-eyed peas (poor Fergie...) for health today. is that just a southern thing or does everyone do that?

anyway...i'm off to work tomorrow. what kind of idiot has school starting back on the 2nd? but anyway...no kids, so that's fine. it's just a teacher work day. we're all bringing food to watch the Auburn game together tomorrow. it'll be the best work day i've had i'm sure.

So what are your New Year's resolutions? I'm very curious to know. One of mine for real is to have a date. Seriously...I couldn't tell you how long it's been since I've had one. Way too long.

I AM SO PISSED!

I have just learned that one of my shows has been cancelled mid-season. AND THEY'RE NOT EVEN GOING TO FINISH IT! It's called "Reunion," and it was so freakin' awesome. It's all we used to talk about on Fridays at our lunch table in the teacher workroom. It's this awesome murder mystery, and now we don't even get to find out how the person died! There are all of these loose ends that are just not going to be tied up. It is the suckiest thing EVER!

I am very upset. Lots of my IRL friends are upset. I just wanted to share our outrage with the online community...

So my Christmas was just lovely. Lots of love and family time. I've barely had time to catch up with any of my friends from up here in B'ham. But I am leaving and going back down south tomorrow because I have lots to do. I have to go get a passport before I start back to work next Monday. I'm going to Europe for spring break and have been putting off the passport thing as long as I possibly can. Can you believe we start back to school on the 2nd??? It's ridiculous. And I left my apartment in a complete mess. So I need to clean before school starts back. We pick back up cheering for basketball season a week from Friday. My life never stops!

Alright...I am off to take a shower. I have to go see T (my old roomie) and her new hubbie Kyle. I haven't seen them in forever. We're doing our Christmas kind of late, but it's the only time either of us had. Being a busy adult sucks...

Hey guys!

I was gone for a long time, but now I'm back. I don't know how often I'll get to post, but I miss you guys, so I'll try my hardest to update and read as often as I can. Right now I'm on winter break from school. Two weeks of bliss without teenagers. It's heaven!

Anyway...nothing to report. Busy buying Christmas presents and the like. Just trying to catch up on some reading.
